Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:4)
The Word of God tells us that Jesus was raised up from the dead by the Glory of God.
In order for us to understand what this means, we need to understand the Glory of God. We must ask ourselves what or more accurately Who is the Glory of God?
In Exodus 33:18-23 we see Moses asking God to see His Glory.
"And he (Moses) said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And He (God) said, I will make all MY GOODNESS pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; ….. And He said, Thou canst not see MY FACE: for there shall no man SEE ME, and live….And it shall come to pass, while MY GLORY passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with MY HAND while I PASS BY: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen."
God's reply to that request was to reveal himself personally to Moses. Notice it is recorded here in Exodus that God said “while I PASS BY”. God personally came on the scene and walked by Moses.
So when we start talking about the Glory of God we are talking about the personal presence of God Himself.
So to grasp the reality of what happened in Romans 6:4 we can now see that the Father personally came to Jesus, rescued Him, and raised Him up from the dead. It was not some far out, impersonal mystical energy that did this.
In Habakkuk 3:1-6 we read where the prophet Habakkuk prayed to God. Habakkuk saw the evil in his day. The conditions were not up to Gods standards of life.
You may be seeing situations in your life right now that may not be in agreement with Gods standards, situations such as sin, poverty, sickness, bondage, or oppression.
When Habakkuk saw these conditions he went to God and prayed that God would make Himself known. He prayed for revival, and God answered his prayer.
How did God answer His prayer? He did so by personally coming onto the scene. His glory came and covered the heavens. The Earth was full of His praise. His brightness was like that of the sun and rays or bright beams were coming from his hands.
After describing the Glory of God, Habakkuk declared that there in God’s Glory was The Hiding Place of His power.
In the Glory of God is where you and I find the Power of God.
It’s this power that saved, healed and raised Jesus up from the dead.
This is what you and I need today. We were never created to live without God's personal presence. Adam was clothed in God's Glory in the day that He was created.
Clothed with the Glory of God, His personal presence, Adam receives power to live in divine health free from sickness and disease.
Look at Romans 3:23; “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Sin separated us from the Glory of God, His presence, and by doing so it separated us from the His power to save, and heal as well.
But that's not the end of the story. God's plan was to restore you and I back to His Glory, back to His presence. In verse 24 we continue to read “Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” Through the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ we now have been redeemed back to the Glory of God, back to His presence!
Another passage of scripture tells us that “Christ in you” is our “hope of Glory.” (Col 1:27) Because of Jesus we have now been reconciled back to the Glory of God.
In reality that's what the day of Pentecost was all about. It was the restoration of man back to the personal presence of God. Acts 2:1-4; “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come… suddenly there was a sound from… it filled all the house where they were sitting… and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost…. "
Look at what Jesus said in Acts 1:8 “...you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you.” Why because the Holy Spirit is the very personal presence of God Himself.
The Holy Spirit is the Glory of God with us. The Holy Spirit is Gods personal presence in our lives. This is what the disciples were experiencing on that special day.
And now, like disciples, this is what you and I can experience today as well. We can be filled with the personal presence of the Father. We can be filled with His power to save and heal!
Finally let’s look at what God said in Romans 8:11; “If the Spirit (Glory) of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you…”
Praise God! If the Spirit of God is the Glory of the Father, His personal presence, and the Spirit of God dwells in you, the believer, that means then that the power of God to save heal and deliver dwells in you as well!
He went on to say that the Holy Spirit, the Glory of God... "shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
It is the personal presence of the Father and His power that will quicken or make life in your body.
That's what the power of God will do. God's personal presence is His healing presence. His Glory is where your healing is experienced!
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He personally dwells within you. This means that His power to heal your body is in you as well!
Wherever you are whatever you are doing the Father's personal presence, His Glory, is right there with you. Whatever situation you are in, God's Glory and His power is with you to assist you and to give you whatever you need to overcome.
In Acts 10:38 we see it written where God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost, (His Glory) and with power. It says that Jesus took the personal presence of God and His power, and went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.
Grab hold of the scriptures today meditate on them until the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead rises up within you and manifests His power in you. Salvation, healing, and deliverance are yours! Understand that God is with you personally. Take His power and kick that sickness right out the front door and walk in your new found freedom today!
