SPEAK TO YOUR MOUNTAIN Part 2

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mark 11:23)

Mountains represent literal walls, circumstantial challenges and obstacles in our lives that try to prevent us from receiving and experiencing the promises of God

In Mark 11:22 Jesus declares to us that faith in God is the answer to any challenge we face!  1 John 5:4 tells us faith is the victory that overcomes the world.

When the world is trying to block you from receiving the promises of God, FAITH is the power that blows that wall down!

In Mark 11:23 Jesus tied faith in God to include speaking what we believe!   Jesus commanded us to speak “to” the mountains. He didn't tell us to talk to God about the mountains.   He said to speak directly “to” the mountain what we believe, and when we do this, that mountain which is trying to block our promised inheritance, has to go.

From a worldly perspective this may sound foolish. To speak to a virus or a sickness, that is attacking your body, and tell it to leave sounds naive and foolish to the unbeliever.

1 Corinthians 1:27 reveals to us though that God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise.   Speaking to the mountains in our life only seems foolish to a carnal person because they don’t understand the first priority of speaking.

Many assume words are only used to express our emotions or to communicate with one another.  But the words you speak have a far greater importance.

Proverbs 18:21 tells us “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."

It's always going to sound foolish to the world when a Christian talks as if what God has promised is a reality, especially when those promises seem to contradict the natural evidence around us.

If you want to keep the enemy defeated this is the kind of talking you better be doing.  The reality is we are going to have to speak to these mountains.   God himself talks this way.

In Romans 4:17 we read; “....even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”

When God created the universe he looked into the emptiness and spoke His desired end result. He said “LIGHT BE” and light was. (Genesis 1:3)   God doesn't wait for circumstances to line up before He speaks.   He causes circumstances to line up because He speaks.

Some of you may be thinking; “Well that's God.  He can do that, but we can't expect that to happen for us.”

Yes we can.  When we look at  Mark 11:22 we see where Jesus commands us to have faith in God and then proceeds to instruct us on how to operate in that faith by speaking what we believe.

Ephesians 5:1 tells us “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;”  The word “followers” has been translated from a Greek word “mimetes” which means to imitate.

To imitate means to copy or to act like.   The Bible clearly tells us to follow after, to imitate or copy God as a child does his/her Father.

Isn’t that what children do.  They copy their parents in the way they behave or how they speak. My wife pointed that out to me one day.  She said; "You can sure tell this son is yours by the way he walks and talks.  He behaves just like you."

That is the way it should be with our Heavenly Father.  Our relationship with Him should be so intimate that we begin to walk and talk like Him.

So the truth is, yes we are supposed to act the way God acts.  We are to think the way God thinks, and we are to speak the way God speaks.

1 Peter 1:15-16 declares “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;  Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

He tells us to be holy in our conversation (in our walk and in our talk) as He is holy.   To be holy means to be separated from the way the world believes, speaks and acts.  It means to be different from everybody else, and be like Him.

When we make our words agree with His, and speak them out of our mouth in faith, mountains move, and things change!   Jesus said “whosoever shall say...” that includes you and me.

You may be thinking; “What if nothing happens?"

Let's look to how Jesus acted, when this appeared liked it happened to Him.

Jesus spoke to a fig Tree in Mark 11:14.  After He spoke to it, nothing changed immediately.  He didn't hesitate, He just went on doing what He was doing.   He didn’t wait to see if what He said would manifest right away. He didn't go back later and check to see if anything happened either.  Once He had spoken to it, He considered it done.

Now it was about 24 hours later that the disciples noticed that the tree had dried up from its roots.  That’s what spoken words do.  They go to the core, where things begin, to bring the change or the creation that is desired.

It was the disciples that kept looking to see if what Jesus said would happen.  When they noticed it, they pointed it out to Jesus.  It was at this moment that Jesus took the opportunity to teach them again about faith, and how to use words.

It is time for us to follow His example, and be His disciple.  First we are to believe what God has said.  Second we are to speak what we believe.

Speak your faith, speak your freedom, and speak your healing by speaking His word from a heart that believes!

This is the way you and I receive everything the Lord has given us.  This is even the way we receive our salvation and our place in the family of God.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  Romans 10: 9-10

Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and experience your salvation today.   Don’t stop there.  Continue speaking to the mountains in your life.

Begin speaking to the sickness, to the poverty, and to anything that is challenging or blocking you from receiving God's promises.  Demand them to be removed.

Believe God’s Word and call those things that be not as though they were.

It is this kind of faith that sets captives free, and releases the miracle working power of God in your life.  It’s this kind of faith that makes your salvation a reality.
